Different Parks in Srilanka

If you though that Srilanka was just a tourist destination, with those lovely sun soaked beaches and religious and historical monuments then you are wrong. For this country is also famous for its rich fauna and flora because of those lush green vegetation and tropical rainforest that are located a bit deeper and in the interiors of the country.

Srilanka is very famous and popular for its wildlife and national parks because there are many of them that are located and situated in the interiors of the country. Probably towards the northern part of the island where there are many lush green landscapes and mountains along with those dense green and scary tropical rain forests.

This is the best place in the entire continent of Asia to see that great variety of fauna and flora. This is the home for some of the most exotic animals that are found nowhere on this planet, such as the komodo dragons, a rare species of reptile on the verge and the brink of extinction.

Besides these there are many other animals that found a home in this country such as the leopards, the wild buffaloes and other such animals like the jackals, the porcupines and other kinds of reptiles and amphibians.

There are many such wild animal parks in Srilanka such as the Yala National Park, the Uda Walawe national park and the Giritale National park and many others that are connected to each other and are situated in the deep and interior portions of Srilanka.

Among all these listed above the Yala National Park is the largest national park among the and this wild life sanctuary or national park is managed by the wild life department of Srilanka. However, one can roam around freely in these parks to have a natural glimpse of these wild animals roaming freely over there and it almost seems to be like their natural habitat. But you are not allowed to hunt them since all these are declared to be protected and preserved by the government of Srilanka.

However, you would need the permission from the forest officials and a forest ranger and guide usually provided by the wild life administration who would take you on your wildest ride of your life time.

There are some rules and regulation of the park like you are not supposed to feed the animal, you cannot hunt them down and you also cannot carry any weapons of any kind with you. And the most important of them all, you cannot come out or peep out of the safari van that is provided to you by the forest officials.
