Experiences In Sri lanka

When you are going to tour some unknown place be sure you have done enough homework and research on it especially the food, cost of living and above all how you are going to reach there. It is always better to consult and take advise from your friends or acquaintances or any Tom, Dick, and Harry who has visited that place.

When Visiting or holidaying in Sri Lanka is on the agenda there are many things that you will have to take for consideration such as climate and the means of transport.

The first think you have to keep in mind is the climate. On an average the climate of
Sri Lanka is tropical and too much of alcohol can lead to dehydration. Instead drink lots of mineral water.

Transport is the second consideration. Since Colombo is the gateway to Sri Lanka the only option left with the tourist is to travel to other place either by road or train. Normally the buses are overcrowded and you are sure to feel uncomfortable because of the congestion. The private coaches could be comfortable but a bit expensive. Nowadays most of the tourists prefer to hire a motor bike or self drive car.

The three wheeled auto rickshaw is also popular among the tourists.  When you opt for a self drive car be careful about the domestic animals such as cows and dogs that stray on the road and become an obstacle for you.

Climate of the tourist place has also to be taken for consideration. Now if you go when the monsoon has set in most of the times your movement will be restricted to the resort or the hotel premises only. More over usually in island nations the humidity being high you may feel your skin to be sticky and irritating.

Try to find out which months of the year are comfortable for your visit to Sri Lanka. You can come to know about this from numerous sources like the internet, friends and acquaintances.

Tariff of the resort or the hotel where you are going to stay is of much importance. Sometimes the tariff may be exorbitant and you may realize later that you have been fooled. This foolishness could be just because of ignorance on your part. It is always better to compare the prices mentioned in the tariff with the facilities that you are going to be provided with.

Last but not the least; take into consideration the security of yourself and your luggage.

I hope that the above mentioned facts save you from possible bitter experiences and make you holiday a lifelong cherished occasion.
