Island Fun

“Ayubowan” is what you will listen when you enter the beautiful country of Sri Lanka. The word “Ayubowan” is a small gesture of the Sinhalese people living in Sri Lanka meaning “Welcome”. Sri Lanka is a small island situated in the southeast of India, surrounded by the Indian Ocean from all its sides.

The island is tear shaped with a variant topography which is the main reason behind its beautiful features. The island is spread over 65, 610 sq.km and has a wide variation all throughout.

According to the historians, the history of Sri Lanka can be traced back to over 2500 years ago which is lost in the various myths and the various legends. The earliest civilization of Sri Lanka has recorded evidence which dates as back as 380 BC when the city of Anuradhapura was made the first capital of the country. Later, the country was invaded by many other communities like the Portuguese, Dutch and finally the British.

There are numerous islands all over the world which attract large number of tourists from all the countries. But, Sri Lanka is somewhat different from all the other islands. It has rich green vegetation of paddy, tea plantations and many rubber plantations all around the island.

The island has many other attractions such as the large number of beaches, the coral sanctuary, the bird sanctuary, national parks, museums and galleries, temples etc.

Thus, over all if you really wish to enjoy your vacation in visiting all places rather than just traveling from one place to the other, then Sri Lanka is one of the best places to spend your time and have fun.
